1st chakra - your root & base chakra

RootChakra The Root chakra is located between anus & sexual organs; at the Dam.

It is the foundation on which you build. The basic trust in life and in yourself, it embodies your will to live. It is your root, it gives you safety and security. If you trust in it, the earth will take care of you. At the beginning of your being, from the moment of birth, in the phase of life between 0 and 7 years, you are in your very own root energy. The root chakra is also called the 1st chakra, base chakra, stone chakra or muladhara chakra and grounds you in the here & now. It roots you firmly to Mother Earth and gives you courage, strength, basic trust and warmth. This is about your primal instinct, your very own being. The firm will to live and survive: about yourself as an individual and your own personality. Everything physically solid, such as teeth, bones, nails, feet, legs, coccyx, spine and the large intestine, are associated body regions that are assigned to the root chakra.

Chakra color

The color red is assigned to the first chakra. Strong, warm red stimulates your root chakra. Red conveys courage, strength, power and basic trust. At the same time, it invigorates and warms your body. It is the color for life force and vitality

Root chakra balanceMuladhara Chakra 1st energy center

When the root chakra energy flows freely, it gives you a feeling of security. Like the lucky happy Buddha, you withstand the trials and tribulations of your surroundings - you rest within yourself like a rock in the surf with the deep conviction that you are strong and protected. The 1st chakra also symbolizes the seat of the subconscious: this is where your power resides; your Kundalini energy!

Would you like to get active and nourish your root chakra? Then I would like to recommend this breathing mediation from Kundalini yoga to you: The One-Minute-Breath is a great technique to keep calm in our fast-changing times. You can use this exercise to optimize the cooperation between the brain hemispheres and calm emotions such as anxiety, fear and worry. The exercise can help you to face emotions with openness and to feel the presence of the spirit and your intuition.

Root chakra breathing meditation*

Meditation 1st chakraSit in a meditation posture, e.g. cross-legged or lotus position, and assume a pleasant and comfortable position. Turn your attention inwards, calm your mind and focus on inner stillness during this exercise.

When you feel ready, take 3 minutes to prepare for the exercise and relax and deepen your breath (or try 3 minutes of Breath of Fire).

Breathe in slowly and evenly after 20 seconds and fill your abdomen well. Hold your breath for 20 seconds as soon as you have filled your upper chest with air. Then breathe out gently and evenly for 20 seconds.

At the end of the exercise, carefully return to inhaling and start again.

Here's a brief overview: inhale for 20 seconds, hold your breath for 20 seconds & exhale for 20 seconds.

If you have never done this breathing meditation before, you may find it challenging. Be gentle with yourself and don't work against your breath, but give yourself permission to adapt the breathing exercise to your actual state... For example, you can start with 10 seconds of inhalation, hold for 10 seconds and then exhale for 10 seconds (or only for 5 seconds if necessary). Take your time and then slowly and carefully increase to 20, 20, 20 at your own pace.

If you feel dizzy during this exercise, please pause immediately.

This meditation is part of the Chakra Challenge that I developed for my tea cooperation partner Haritea. You can also find an exciting chakra self-test here.

2nd chakra - your sacral & sexual chakra

SacraChakra SexualChakra

The sacral chakra is located between the pubic bone and navel, at the level of the sacrum, above the sexual organs and approx. 2 cm below the navel. This is where your self lives and where you are at home: you with your feelings, your sensuality, your sexuality and your creativity.

The sacral chakra is about your creative potential and in the age phase from 8 to 14 years you live in your sexual chakra energy for the first time. You are curious, try things out and discover the diversity of life. Synonyms for the sacral chakra are also 2nd chakra, sacral chakra, sexual chakra or svadhisthana chakra.

Chakra color

The color orange supports your 2nd chakra: radiant orange invigorates, dissolves stagnation and frozen patterns. It gives you new energy and brings you into flow; into the flow of life. It is therefore obvious that everything watery in the body is connected to your sacral chakra: e.g. blood, lymph, tears, sweat, urine, etc. Associated organs are the bladder, kidneys and sexual organs.

2. energy center Sacral chakra balance

When your 2nd chakra is in harmony, you feel pure joie de vivre and enthusiasm. You are rich in emotions, can enjoy and surrender with relish. Your life is in flow! You allow yourself to be enchanted by life with wonder and enthusiasm. You are filled with curiosity about the unknown. You meet your fellow human beings openly and naturally. People with an open sacral chakra are characterized by a gentle disposition and a positive attitude towards life.

Would you like to get active and get your sacral chakra flowing? Then I would like to introduce you to a kriya for stretching the sciatic meridian: This exercise is a great way to release tension that can affect your back and stretch your vital nerve (sciatic meridian). This stretch can have a positive effect on both your physical and mental state. It can also balance your mind and free it from negative thoughts!

Sacral chakra life nerve Kriya*

Meditation 2nd chakraSit on your left heel. It is best to position your heel so that it is between your anus and your genitals (alternatively, you can also stretch both legs forward if it is more comfortable for you). Now stretch out your right leg and grasp your toes with both hands. Touch the tip of the big toe with both thumbs and index fingers. Breathe in and out long and deeply. As you breathe deeply, let yourself sink further and further forward and downwards*. Do this exercise for 3 minutes, then relax on your back for 5 minutes. Then switch sides and turn your attention to your left leg.

*) If you find it difficult to touch your foot at first and can't quite reach it yet, you can always use a yoga strap for support or simply place your palms on your shins and apply light pressure over the palm of your hand. Gradually, you will succeed in slowly stretching your muscles and moving a little further towards your toes. Be gentle with yourself and don't overstretch!

3rd chakra - your powerhouse

Navel chakra Solar plexus chakra 3rd energy centerYour Navel chakra is located approx. 2 cm above the navel. It is your own center. The place where your power resides, your inherent willpower.

In addition to the navel chakra, the 3rd chakra is also often referred to as the spleen, solar plexus or Manipura chakra. At body level, all digestive organs such as the stomach, gall bladder, liver, spleen, pancreas and the autonomic nervous system are assigned to the 3rd energy center.

Here, in the center of your body, is where your personality and self-control manifest. The Manipura chakra is all about your personal 'power' and self-acceptance. At the physical age of 15 to 21, you experience the navel chakra energy for the first time: you define your self, set yourself apart, follow your path; which gives you rough edges. It is not uncommon for you to bump into something or other. The energy of the 3rd chakra burns strongly and reflects the element of fire.

3rd energy centerManipura ChakraChakra color

Bright yellow is assigned to the third chakra. Yellow symbolizes the light and warmth of this navel chakra power. Clear, sunny yellow activates and strengthens the function of the 3rd chakra. Bright yellow stimulates, promotes activity, enlivens your thoughts and actions and gives you inner peace.

Navel chakra balance

When your spleen chakra is well supplied with energy and you are in your inner center, you feel full of drive. You know what you want and it is easy for you to make decisions. You have your goals firmly in sight, are focused on them and can achieve them with ease. You take responsibility for yourself and your actions. A healthy ego combined with self-esteem and self-confidence characterize an energetically harmonious powerhouse. A strong navel chakra energy also finds expression in optimism and inner harmony.

Navel chakra fire breathing *

To balance your navel chakra, I invite you to practise a breathing meditation with fire breathing, which is recommended for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Breathing creates a vibration that massages and stimulates all the organs in the abdomen. As fire breathing increases your activity and aids your digestion, my advice to you is to avoid it directly after a meal and in the late evening. The best time is first thing in the morning or when you literally need to vent... Are you upset and really angry about something? This exercise can be a good remedy: visualize how you let go of anger and resentment with every exhalation and thus clear your mind of negative thoughts and feelings. Breathing fire has a cleansing effect and gives the body a lot of energy.

Meditation 3rd chakraAssume a comfortable sitting position and sit in the lotus position, cross-legged or on your lower legs in the heel position. Place your hands on your knees in the Gyan mudra and prepare yourself for the breathing technique. The fire breath is similar to a powerful "bellows" breath, which is done using only the abdomen and diaphragm. If you are new to this breathing technique, it should be done slowly at first. Later, when it is working well, do it about twice a second. When inhaling, the abdomen is pushed outwards forcefully. When you exhale, pull your stomach inwards with the same intensity. Please also pay attention to the position of your head, making sure that your chin is slightly tucked in so that there is no feeling of pressure in your head.

Inhale deeply through your nose, expel the air firmly through your nose and briefly draw in your belly as you exhale. If you are new to the fire breath and have never practiced it before, start with 10 breaths to begin with. If you are already familiar with it, try 20 or more breaths. You may feel a little dizzy at the beginning - please pause, breathe at your normal rhythm and try the fire breathing cycle again.

Please take care of your body and remember that fire breathing is not suitable for high blood pressure, pregnancy or abdominal pain. In these cases, please seek medical advice beforehand.

If you have any questions about the navel chakra, please send me an email to info@chakmonie.de

Blazing navel chakra greetings, your Maren

4th chakra - your physical & emotional heart

Heart chakra 4th energy centerYour 4th chakra, also known as Heart or Anahata chakra known, lies in the middle of the chest; at the level of your heart. Anahata comes from Sanskrit and means "unharmed, unbroken or unbroken". The sound of the pure heart is able to lovingly flow through your body and soul. Your heart chakra is the inexhaustible source of unconditional loveunbridled joy and deep trust. In the 4th chakra is your Inner child and this is where your personal heart's desires unfold. In the life cycle between the ages of 22 and 28, you live in the heart chakra energy for the first time: you follow your heart and feel ready for the first time, for example, to build your own nest with an intensive relationship and partnership or to start a family. You take good care of yourself and your matters of the heart.

The 4th energy center is connected to the element of air and, on a physical level, primarily includes the heart, lungs and skin. The heart chakra also affects the immune system and the sense of touch with the hands and arms.

Heart Chakra Anahata ChakraChakra color

The colour nuances from rose to pink and all shades of green have a healing and harmonizing effect on your heart chakra. These color frequencies give you confidence, romance, hope and humility. Green is also known as the color of healing. All pink and rose tones awaken the inner child within you and promote a loving relationship with yourself and with all the matter that surrounds you: Animals, humans, plants etc.

HeartChakra-Balance

With high vibrational heart chakra energy, you live in complete harmony with yourself and accept yourself in the depths of your heart exactly as you are - unconditionally and without ifs and buts... Through this deep self-love, inner healing can take place in your physical and mental heart. It is the basis for a fulfilling love for other people as well as for compassion, understanding and an intimate joy of life. Feelings of inner turmoil, conflict, doubt and insecurity are alien to you. You see and feel with the power of a pure heart and radiate warmth and happiness.

Heart Chakra Meditation *

Many emotions flow through your body when you turn to the 4th energy center with the Lotus Mudra meditation and your heart center expands: old wounds and hurt feelings in the heart can be released and begin to heal. Go in trust, engage with yourself from the bottom of your heart and connect with the presence of the open heart. In this connection you will recognize your uniqueness. Stay in the here and now with loving mindfulness while you sing in meditation and gently feel into yourself.

Sit in a meditative posture, e.g. cross-legged or lotus position. Bring your hands into an open lotus mudra in front of the heart center: the base of the palms come together, with only the fingertips of the little fingers and the thumbs touching. The remaining fingers are straight and open, similar to the calyx of a blooming lotus flower. The palms face each other and are open towards the sky.

Now direct your focus and eyes to the tip of your nose. The accompanying mantra is a chant in which you chant or repeat the words "Humee Hum Brahm Hum" over and over again. You can also search for musical accompaniment for the mantra on YouTube... Start with 3 minutes, increase to 5, 7 and 11 minutes. If you are practiced, you can also do this meditation for 21 or 31 minutes at any time.

At the end of the exercise, inhale deeply, hold your breath briefly and exhale. Repeat this 2 more times. Then sit absolutely still for one minute. Feel well. Then shake your arms and shoulders out and relax.

If you have any questions about the Anahata chakra, please send me an email to info@chakmonie.de

Loving heart chakra greetings, your Maren

5th chakra - Your truthfulness

Throat chakra 5th energy centerThe 5th chakra, also Throat or throat chakra called. It symbolizes the boundary between inside and outside and is considered a Mediator between heart and mind. It is located in the middle between the hollow of the throat and the larynx. The throat chakra embodies the center of communication. Listen deeply to yourself and perceive your inner voice. Let everything flow freely and do not suppress anything; in this way, truthfulness can manifest itself within you and you communicate with the voice of the pure truth. The 5th energy center gives you the strength to set boundaries and to say "no" with a clear conscience. Appreciative and non-violent speech is the supreme discipline of the throat chakra. Organically, the 5th chakra is connected to the neck, throat, jaw, ears, speech organs, trachea and oesophagus as well as the shoulders and neck. The stage of life between the ages of 29 and 35 embodies the classic throat chakra energy: independence, freedom, individuality, creative self-expression and self-reflection are the focus. It's about space and expansion of yourself.

Throat chakra color

Vishuddha Chakra 5th energy centerYour throat chakra is characterized by blue tones such as Turquoise and Light blue activated. These color vibrations have a clarifying and cooling effect, provide demarcation, promote spiritual expanse and honest, sincere communication.

Throat chakra balance

When your throat chakra is in harmony, you clearly express your own opinion. You are in harmony with yourself and your communication. It is exciting that the 5th chakra is directly connected to your 3rd chakra: all your values, standards, opinions and goals, which you manifest in the 3rd energy center (navel center), can be expressed openly with ease via a well-harmonized 5th chakra and you are a talented communicator. Everything that is important to you flows effortlessly from your lips and your way of expressing yourself is appreciative, clear and purposeful. You formulate your needs lovingly, with a firm voice and authentically.

Throat Chakra Meditation *

The type of communication that emanates from the 5th chakra is very clear and direct. The 5th chakra is like a gateway that radiates your feelings and thoughts into the world. Therefore, I have chosen a throat chakra meditation for you that can activate your communication power and strengthen you in manifesting your own identity through voice and speech. Create the word and the ability to initiate actions that spring from the depths of your soul.

Sit cross-legged with your spine straight and bring your hands into the following mudra pose: touch the thumb and little finger of one hand to the thumb and little finger of the other hand. Bend the ring fingers of both hands down towards the palms and let them "hang" freely without touching the palms. The index and middle fingers point straight upwards without touching each other.

Start the exercise with 11 minutes and increase to 21 or 31 minutes.

The song "Beloved God" by Singh Kaur (on the CD Peace Lagoon) or the YouTube version by Snatam Kaur is a good musical accompaniment for meditation.

Chakra - Your 3rd eye

Forehead chakra 3rd eye chakra The 6th chakra, also known as Forehead, 3rd eye or Ajna chakra is located between the eyebrows, slightly above the root of your nose. The 3rd eye symbolizes the very own intuition and your 7th sense. The unconscious intuitive that has been living inside you for a long time whispers quietly and persistently - over and over again. Often you don't even consciously notice it and simply push it aside... It is this subtle, gentle voice that comes up every now and then between your thoughts. Gently, your inner intuition and let visions arise. The forehead chakra is your connection between reason and intuition.

Physically, the 6th chakra is associated with the eyes, forehead, nose, sinuses and nervous system. Between the ages of 36 and 42, you experience the energy of the forehead chakra for the first time: pure knowledge of being, its conscious perception and liberation from mental limitations are among the main themes of the 6th chakra. It is your personal gateway to the deeper truth.

Forehead chakra color

6. energy center third eyeThe brow chakra can be harmonized by 3 colour frequencies: Indigo blue promotes intuition; dark violet stimulates clairvoyance and yellow expands intellectual thinking. As traditional chakra color however, the Indigo blue viewed: it calms you down, clears the thoughts and gives relaxed, spiritual depth.

Forehead chakra balance

A wide open brow chakra brings out your 7th sense and psychic perceptions. You have an alert mind and clear, structured thoughts. You recognize your purpose in life and are ready to follow your destiny in the here and now with spiritual insight. Communication with your soul activates your higher consciousness and gives you wisdom.

Forehead Chakra Meditation *

To balance and open your forehead chakra, I have selected an easy exercise from Kundalini Yoga for you: the Ego Eradicator is a meditation to overcome the ego. Furthermore, this exercise opens the lung area, affects your magnetic field (aura) and puts both hemispheres of your brain in a state of alertness.

Assume a comfortable cross-legged position. Extend your arms above your head at a 60 degree angle, keeping your elbows straight and your shoulders down. Pull your fingertips in, curl them up and rest them on your palms. The thumbs are stretched back and pointing towards each other. Your eyes are closed and your mental focus is above your head.

Practice the breath of fire in this pose for 1 - 3 minutes.

If you are new to fire breathing, please read the instructions in the 3rd chakra on fire breathing. Finish the exercise after 1-3; breathe in deeply and bring your arms together by touching the tips of your thumbs above your head. At the end of the exercise, open your fingers, breathe out and relax your arms.

7th chakra - Your own divinity

The 7. CrownChakraCrownChakraChakra, also known as Crown, crown and Sahasrara chakra known, lies in the center of the highest point of the head at the crown of your head. The crown chakra embodies your Cosmic and universal consciousness. It gives you deep trust in the unknown, gives you wisdom beyond knowledge and is able to dissolve any karmic fears within you. The crown chakra symbolizes the universal connection between you and the universe: Infinity and sacred truth of pure being. Everything is one, everyone and everything is connected; ego boundaries can dissolve and you transform into the BE ALL.

On a psychological level, the 7th chakra is connected to the brain and the entire organism. At the beginning of your 43rd birthday and the end of your 49th year, you have completely passed through and experienced the first chakra cycle. Especially in this last phase of the 7-year cycle, the crown chakra focuses on topics such as self-realization, transformation, inventiveness, spirituality and cosmic consciousness.

7th energy center crown chakraCrown chakra color

The crown chakra is symbolized by the colors violet, white and gold. Violet is the color of meditation and spirituality; it also conveys protection and protects you from external energetic influences. White stands for purity and clarity. Gold is the epitome of the divine and infinity. The totality of these colors enables the crown chakra to open up and send out energies.

Crown Chakra Balance

A harmonious 7th chakra is an expression of the highest perfection in cosmic consciousness.

It can be more or less developed and through its unfolding all limiting blockages of the other chakras dissolve. The Kundalini energy within you can rise and you feel universally connected: Separation and limitation from within and without are removed. You yourself are divine consciousness and radiate from within. You realize that you are your own creator and perceive this wonderful boundlessness with every cell of your being. This divine essence and the pure being within you fill you with bliss. Pure, deep realization and the feeling of universal connectedness allow you to be one with the cosmos: the individual self merges into the universal self!

Crown Chakra Meditation *

As a meditation to open the crown chakra, I invite you to practice the exercise for "spiritual upliftment, connection and joy" by chanting the magnificent mantra Ang Sang Wahe Guru in addition to the posture.

This mantra translates as: "The dynamic, loving energy of the infinite dances in every limb and every cell of my being." This mantra fills every cell within you with light and love. The individual consciousness merges with the universal consciousness. This allows you to realize that you are not alone.

Assume the simple posture and sit cross-legged with a straight spine. Bring the tips of your thumb and index finger together in Gyan Mudra and focus on the tip of your nose with your eyes half-closed. Now chant the mantra Ang Sang Wahe Guru for 31 minutes, either in a monotone or to a melody you know or your own. You can find musical suggestions for the mantra in the Satnam mail order service, on YouTube or Spotify. At the end of the 31-minute meditation, breathe in deeply, hold your breath - as long as you can do so without any problems - and then breathe out. Repeat this breathing cycle two more times.
